Sponsor A Child
The Pythian Home is a non-profit organization. We rely on interested, committed people, which have a love for children, to become role models for our children. We have various levels of involvement depending upon your willingness.Sponsor Families
are a major asset to the Pythian Home and the children residing there. The family agrees to have a child in their home one weekend a month and the child becomes a part of that family unit. This allows the child the opportunity to be a part of a loving, stable family and gives a positive role model after which to pattern family life. A bond is developed outside of the Home. Each child has his or her own sponsor family. Siblings do not share sponsors. Sponsors are able to devote extra time to that child and contribute positive experiences that the Home isn't necessarily able to provide. It is much easier to take one extra child to the movies rather than thirty extra children. The weekend is pre-scheduled.BIRTHDAY SPONSORS
are individuals or groups assigned a specific child to be remembered on his or her birthday with a gift. Many of these children do not receive gifts from their family. We try to set up three or four sponsors to remember each child with a birthday gift. They may actually purchase a gift or send money and a gift will be purchased. A local grocery store provides the birthday cake for each child's birthday; in this way it is made to be a special day when many of the children have never been made to feel special. • GROUP SPONSORED OUTINGS are opportunities for groups or businesses to sponsor the children with a trip to Six Flags, the Zoo, an afternoon picnic, bowling, etc. For example, The PASS school has a group of students that spend extra time with the children. They have taken them to the Fort Worth Zoo and provided a picnic lunch for them. Twice a year they also provide a birthday party for the children.
