Who is Eligible

The Texas Pythian Home is available to help families in crisis who are in need of temporary short-term or long-term care for their children. Placement may only be made by the Managing Conservator. Open CPS cases are not eligible, however, we do provide placement prior to CPS removal depending upon the circumstances.

A placement application must be completed and returned to us, along with the child's shot records and a current physical examination. Our Child Care Director will schedule an interview with the Managing Conservator to determine eligibility.

Reasons for Placement

There are many reasons why children may be unable to live with their parents or guardians. Families may find themselves in circumstances where they are unable to care for their children either temporarily or long term.

Circumstances such as death, divorce, chemical dependency, incarceration, abuse or neglect may foster an environment which is unsafe for children. Texas Pythian Home can help!

The four primary reasons why children are placed at the Texas Pythian Home are:

The Pythian Home will care for these children until the parent or guardian are once again able to provide a stable environment for them.

The Pythian Home exists to meet the individual needs of every child in our care. A fee is never charged for the care of children who reside here at the Home. You may complete a placement application and return it by e-mail or regular mail to the Child Care Director.
